Ashray is a Sanskrit word meaning “shelter,” “refuge,” or “protection”. The form that this bird house takes is dictated by the features of the birdhouse. The design is not inspired by any particular thing or idea as such but uses simple geometric forms like sphere, cylinder and so on to generate a form following function it is designed for.
